In the lead up to COP26, The School of International and Public Affairs in conjunction with The Climate School’s Earth Institute at Columbia University is delighted to fireside chat with Pavina Adunratanasee, MPA '14.

Join SIPA alum Pavina Adunratanasee for a discussion on careers at the intersection of clean energy financing and technology innovation. In her role as ‘Smart Solutions Manager’ at Iberdrola, a global renewable energy producer, Pavina leads the commercialization of clean technologies focused on distributed energy resources (DER), energy storage, and electric vehicles (EV) to drive the ‘New Energy Economy’. Prior to this, Pavina worked in utility-scale renewables financing with Neoen Australia and Siemens Financial Services covering the Asia-Pacific region.

Participants will learn how to transition their career into climate tech, plug into the innovation ecosystem, and not lose sight of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to ensure a just climate transition. Pavina will discuss how we can leverage proven technologies in Distributed Energy Resources (DER) electric mobility, while introducing disruptive innovations to drive climate mitigation, as well as the key challenges to decarbonizing our global economy and how we can design policies to incentivize climate-related R&D and scale technology adoption.

Pavina’s climate journey started at SIPA where her research was focused on the intersection of sustainable development, policy design, and capital mobilization. She was recently selected by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) to participate in its flagship ‘Women in Wind’ 2020 program. Additionally, she is a a ‘Climate Leadership Corp’ member at the Climate Resiliency Project.

The zoom information will be sent out the day before the event via email.
